Ferrous Sulphate FeSO4 7H2O

Synonyms:

  • Iron (II) Sulphate Heptahydrate, Sulphate of Iron.
  • Traditionally called copperas, green vitriol.

UK – A byproduct of steel pickling process.

A light blue/ green solid, non-dusty, powder, crystallised.

Uses

  • Will adjust the pH levels as an acidifier on alkaline grounds
  • Precipitant, coagulant and flocculent for industrial water/effluent treatment
  • Phosphate treatment
  • Colour and quality enhancement of grass and has been assessed in accordance with EU Directive 91/414 as suitable for use in the control of moss in managed turf situations. Refer to your local distributor for specific conditions relating to such uses.
  • Hydrogen Sulphide elimination
  • High iron content
  • Agriculture
  • Chromate reduction in cement
  • Manufacture of animal feed, pigments and ceramics.

The solution is made with our Damp Ferrous Sulphate which is of higher purity than the more commonly available material produced as a by-product of the purification of titanium dioxide ores.
