Ferrous Sulphate (also known as Iron Sulphate or Copperas) is a by-product of a manufacturing process.

Appearance: Light crystalline with a slight acidic odour.

Physical description: A light blue/ green solid, non-dusty, crystalline material.

Ferrous Sulphate is used in many Industrial Sectors. It is used as a mordant in dyeing wool, in the manufacture of ink, in water purification, as a substitute for aluminium sulphate, agrochemical as a fertiliser, a lawn conditioner, colour enhancer and management of moss. It’s also used to produce magnetic ferric oxide.

Uses

  1. Will adjust the pH levels as an acidifier on alkaline grounds
  2. Precipitant, coagulant and flocculent for industrial water/effluent treatment
  3. Phosphate treatment
  4. Colour and quality enhancement of grass and has been assessed in accordance with EU Directive 91/414 as suitable for use in the control of moss in managed turf situations. Refer to your local distributor for specific conditions relating to such uses.
  5. Hydrogen Sulphide elimination
  6. High iron content
  7. Agriculture
  8. Chromate reduction in cement
  9. Manufacture of animal feed, pigments and ceramics.
